Blane Salamoni, the former Baton Rouge police officer who fatally shot Alton Sterling in July 2016, never faced charges over the killing but that does not mean his past isn’t catching up with him. Salamoni was delivered a summons on Friday for simple battery in the case of an arrest he conducted just a month prior to killing Sterling.
