Emad Al Swealmeen, who died in the blast in a taxi outside Liverpool Women’s Hospital on Remembrance Sunday in an incident that has been declared a terrorist attack, reportedly arrived in the UK from the Middle East in 2014. Although his application for asylum had been rejected, he remained in the country.
