Pandemic Panopticon: Google’s ‘Nightmarish’ User Location Database Trades Accountability for Profit

Google has been collecting information from people’s smartphones to determine where they go and how often they leave home during the COVID-19 pandemic, a move that is akin to dystopian surveillance measures, Alan MacLeod, journalist, author and member of the Glasgow University Media Group, told Radio Sputnik’s Political Misfits Thursday.
