On 10 July, the White House said in a statement that the president commuted the sentence of his former campaign advisor Roger Stone, who was was found guilty of seven counts of obstructing justice and other charges in relation to a so-called 'Russiagate' probe and sentenced to 40 months in prison, a term he would have been serving since 14 July.
