New York City's 85-degree weather makes it difficult to remember that it's officially not summer anymore — but alas, we've come to the last weekend in September.
Luckily, a new month always means new stuff to watch. October brings us extremely binge-able shows like season 3 of Big Mouth and season 5 of Schitt's Creek on Netflix plus season 2 of Castle Rock on Hulu.
It's official: Spider-Man is coming back to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
At the end of August, everyone and Jeff Goldblum panicked that Tom Holland's Spider-man might be leaving the MCU as a result of disputes between Sony and Disney. Reactions abound at the very timely D23 Expo, and Tom Holland's optimism made headlines.
"[A]ll I know is that I’m going to continue playing Spider-Man... The future for Spider-Man will be different, but it will be equally as awesome and amazing, and we’ll find new ways to make it even cooler," Holland said at the time.
It turns out the superhero's future won't be so different after allAccording to Variety, Sony and Marvel have reached an agreement to jointly deliver the highly anticipated third film in the Spider-Man: Homecoming, with Marvel president Kevin Feige producing. Read more...
Teenage climate change activist Greta Thunberg is already a force to be reckoned with. But pair her most recent speech up with some vocal distortion over Swedish death metal and she's downright terrifying.
YouTuber John Mollusk took it upon himself to create this masterpiece, and honestly Greta should heavily consider incorporating more heavy metal into her speeches. It really makes the urgency of climate change action hit home.
"How dare you," Greta screams with enough distortion to make the masses mosh.
This appears to Mollusk's first attempt at turning heartfelt speeches into metal growls, but we hope there'll be more to come. We're going to headbang our way to immediate and decisive policy change. Read more...

TL;DR: Stay active at the office with the Cubii Pro, an under-desk elliptical that's not as extra as it sounds. It's on sale for $249 at Amazon — a savings of $100.
Who has the energy to go to the gym after a long, hard day of sitting in an office chair?
As backwards as it sounds, the sedentary lifestyle can get exhausting. It's not exactly riveting, and finding the motivation to get up and burn some calories outside of the 9-5.
Cubii wants to change that. It's a Bluetooth-enabled elliptical that sits under your desk and provides a way to stay active at the office without taking a walk every hour (or whatever that weird suggestion is). If it sounds like a life saver, just know that it's $100 off its regular price on Amazon. Read more...
The word inspires fear and images of mushroom clouds and meltdowns. And when people hear that their WiFi routers and cellphones emit radiation, they get scared.
In response, maybe they read the recent FDA and FCC reports saying the electromagnetic radiation produced by cellphones and wireless devices is safe for humans. Or maybe they get sucked into an Instagram hole, where people sell crystal pyramids that promise to convert radiation "into positive energy."
“Because radiation is such a scary term, I think it's incredibly easy to mislead people,” said David Robert Grimes, a cancer researcher who studies public understanding of science. “I would argue there's an awful lot of profiteering off of people's fears and misunderstanding implicit in this weird Instagram world.” Read more...

We bet you didn’t know that Amazon even has an Echo device that doubles as a wall clock. They think of everything, don’t they? If you did already know, then congrats. If not, allow us to explain why having an Echo Wall Clock in your home may be a great idea.
First of all, the Echo Wall Clock is currently $5 off on Amazon’s site— it’s not the world’s biggest price cut, but come one, $24.99 for a smart device is a pretty sweet deal.

You may know Max Deutsch from Month to Master, his yearlong self-improvement program where he tried to master one “expert-level” skill each month — such as solving a Rubik’s Cube in 20 seconds, holding a 30-minute conversation in a foreign language and even challenging world champion Magnus Carlsen to a game of chess (Deustch lost).
Now, Deustch and his co-founder Valentin Perez are launching Monthly, which Deustch told me is designed to “leverage technology to help scale this kind of learning to many more people.”
Specifically, Monthly offers 30-day classes taught by experts and celebrities— the instructors often have hundreds of thousands or millions of YouTube subscribers. For example, Andrew Huang is teaching a class on music production, Daria Callie is teaching a class on realistic portrait painting and Stevie Mackey is teaching a class on singing.
When you enroll in a class, you’ll be assigned a different task every day; you might watch an instructional video one day, and then do something more hands-on the next. While the classes are online, you have to enroll and take the class at set periods of time — currently, Huang’s class is the only one open for enrollment.
Deutsch acknowledged that this can seem “a bit antithetical to the benefit of online learning (that you can do it whenever you want),” but he noted that often, “‘whenever you want’ ends up offering most people too much flexibility and becomes ‘maybe some other time.'”
So by having explicit start and stop days for a class, he said, “the commitment you’re making to yourself is more significant and as a result you’re much more likely to stick with it and follow through on your aspirations.”
You’ll also be placed in peer groups with 20 other students, with whom you share work and give and receive feedback. And at the end of it, Deutsch said you’ll have produced “something tangible that you’ve made that you’re proud of and that you can share with the world” — a voice recording, a film, a painting, etc.
Pricing will vary from $179 to $279, depending on the class. Deutsch didn’t provide specific numbers on how the money is shared with instructors, but he noted that the split varies depending on whether students signed up via Monthly or via an instructor promotion. And either way, he said, “creators are getting a very compelling split.”
As for funding, Monthly has raised an undisclosed amount from Floodgate’s Ann Miura-Ko at Floodgate, Intuit founder Scott Cook (Deutsch worked as a product manager at Intuit), and OVO Fund’s Eric Chen.
It's long been rumored that YouTube's machine learning algorithm specifically demonetizes LGBTQ content — despite YouTube's denials.
But the allegations got a boost over the weekend when two creators published videos pointing out how they think YouTube goes about blocking LGBTQ content from making money.
YouTube Analyzed fed more than 15,000 words used in titles to YouTube's bots to figure out what the platform deems too scandalous for advertisers. Words that triggered demonetization in his tests include "gay" and "homosexual."
Another channel, Nerd City, then broke down YouTube Analyzed's data in the acid trip of a video seen above. Before tackling YouTube's shadowy demonetization policy, Nerd City was known for diving into Jake Paul's insidious marketing schemes, exposing family vlogging channels as exploitative, and highlighting obviously edited Instagram photos as bad for young followers' self esteem. Readers, it is time to discuss the most compelling scandal gripping our nation this week: Donald Trump being bad at spelling and grammar.
Trump attacked the media once again on Friday morning with a strange tweet, which focused particularly on what he felt was a bad chyron on CNN. That chyron quoted another one of his tweets (this one from Thursday), where the president referred to Rep. Adam Schiff as "Liddle' Adam Schiff." (In a later tweet, he called for Schiff's resignation.)
To show you how dishonest the LameStream Media is, I used the word Liddle’, not Liddle, in discribing Corrupt Congressman Liddle’ Adam Schiff. Low ratings @CNN purposely took the hyphen out and said I spelled the word little wrong. A small but never ending situation with CNN!

The Rugby World Cup 2019 has officially kicked off and we've already been treated to some wonderful games, with big hits, skilful handling, and impressive tries coming from every side.
This year's tournament is being held in Japan, and is set to end on Nov 2 with the World Cup final. Of course there is an awful lot of rugby to be played before then, with all 20 teams doing everything they can to be a part of the showpiece event in Yokohama.
Rugby fans in the UK can tune into each and every one of the 48 World Cup matches on free-to-air ITV platforms. Most games will be shown on ITV1 and ITV4, and you can also live stream the action via the ITV Hub on a wide range of devices including laptops, tablets, and smartphones.
