I have been to many arts and craft fairs and festivals in my life and there’s on thing I notice in all of them. They are busy. If you pay attention to what’s going on at these fairs and festivals, you’ll notice that people buy these crafts. I thought to myself “Why can’t I do this?” Well, guess what, I can do this and I do.
Let me tell you how I got started in doing arts and crafts. After I visited many of the arts and crafts fairs and festivals, I went home and decided get some e-books on making arts and crafts. The first e-book I got was about soap making. I got this e-book because at the last arts and crafts festival I was at, the soaps was the biggest sellers. I read the e-book and learned how to make soap. I got to work on making soap for the nest arts and craft festival. I didn’t want to make a lot of soap at first for fear of not selling it all. Well, I made about 100 bars of soap and asked a friend if I can sell at his book. He said yes. I ended up selling 75 bars of soap. I made a nice little profit from selling the soap.
After that arts and crafts festival, I went home and got a few more e-books. I got about gel candle making, bath salt making and perfume making. I read all the e-books and got busy with making some more soap, and I started to make perfume, bath salt and gel candles. With the research that I did by going to the arts and crafts fairs and festival, I found out what was hot to sell now.
Anyway, I went back to another arts and crafts festival and ended up getting my own booth. I ended up selling all but 10 bars of soap, selling all the bath salt I made, selling all but 1 gel candle and I sold all perfume I made. That weekend I made about $500 with only putting in $100 in products. I was happy. So I went home and ended up get another e-book. I got how to make a wind chime e-book. Well, to make this long story short, I read the e-book made some wind chimes for another arts and crafts festival. I ended up selling all of the wind chimes.

How TEFL Teachers Can Make MORE Money! Ten Crucial Tips
Do you think you deserve to make more money from what you do?
Many EFL teachers are happy with their lot and seem to think that being paid pocket money is a fair trade for an enlightening cultural experience abroad. The fact is, their work is likely to be making someone a lot of money.
'Don't get into EFL for the money!' is a common phrase spurted out by teachers and managers around the world.
But why not? EFL is a huge global industry generating millions and millions everyday. It is as good an industry as any to make money in, and many do.
You won't make your first fortune from just teaching, but I can't think of a better starting point for becoming an entrepreneur in EFL. As a teacher, you really get to grips with the nuts and bolts of the business and you can use that positively to go onto to much better things, with real insider knowledge.
What you need next is some entrepreneurial spirit along with plenty of drive and my top 10 tips for teachers who want to finally make some $$$ out of EFL.
By following these 10 ideas, I was matching my former monthly British Council salary within 6 months of start-up. I earn considerably more now and my income is steady all year round.
It is hard work of course but I am assuming that by reading this you are ready to knuckle down. I am also assuming that you are a qualified teacher with experience and speak the local language to some degree.
1. No More Middle Men
'So, why are you leaving?' I asked a former colleague at a good posting in Morocco; 'because I am tired of making other people rich'.
Those words have stayed with me ever since. Generally, you won't get rich working for other people, least of all in EFL where schools can often pick and choose from a whole pool of eager recent CELTA course graduates.
Let there be no doubt, if you want to reap rewards you have to take the risk and set up your own teaching operation. That could simply begin with taking on private students at home, and/or seeking out more lucrative corporate training contracts directly.
Once self-employed, you then leave yourself open to explore more exciting and diverse ways of making money than just teaching.
2. Find Your Niche
So, you are now on your own and you need students. You basically have have four possible income streams for your business to explore, all discussed in this post:
1. teach private students from home
2. get corporate contracts and teach students in-company
3. subcontract in-company work out to other teachers, taking a cut
4. sell products to your students
After working in many different countries, I am confident that there is a market for the above 4 avenues in any city where there is a strong demand to learn English and a reasonably dynamic local economy.
Now that you want to be a player in that market, you have to ask yourself why students are going to come to you and not an established school or another private teacher?
You will need to do your research, but you can do that as you build up your student base and tweak your service accordingly. You will only need a handful of students to get a feel for the kind of clients that you can attract.
In my case, in Warsaw; students came to me for 1 to 1 lessons as I was able to undercut the schools whilst promising them the highest quality of teaching they could find anywhere in the city (backed up by my credentials of course). I also promised lessons would take place in a very comfortable teaching room near the centre of town.
With corporate contracts, I not only offered high quality teaching but also uniquely flexible agreements which allowed them to cancel lessons when they wished with no charge. (They rarely did).
I also offered GMAT preparation courses, which no-one else in the city seemed to be doing. It was my own little niche and I soon got a loyal customer base just for those courses alone. And I was able to set my own price, which was higher than regular EFL courses.
Is there a specialised course you can offer? Have a look at what the schools in your city are offering and look for any gaps. I bet GMAT is one of them!
Knowing your place in the local market is essential to help you make rational and informed decisions concerning the service you offer and how to develop your business in the future.

3. Be Exclusive
Even with only a few years teaching experience, it isn't difficult to advertise and present yourself as offering an exclusive private teaching service for highly motivated students; providing a learning experience which no-one else can offer.
Go the extra mile:
- offer your own materials
- make sure you have learning plans and diaries for each student
- offer to put them on a mailing list and send free lessons
- offer to record each lesson and send them the mp3 file for free
- offer free coffee
- lend students English DVDs on a regular basis; be an informal
library
The list is endless but make sure you charge at least 35% more than average for private English lessons in your city.
There will be an upper-limit to what the market will allow you to charge. Find it through trial and error but do not undersell yourself; your clients will expect to pay more for such an exclusive service. We all know that people tend to equate quality with higher prices. I can confidently say that I have found that to be pretty much fact in my experience.
Besides, even if 7 out of 10 students who enquire about your services walk away when they hear your prices, the 3 that stay will be worth it. Go on the premise that you are an exclusive service looking for exclusive clients and you will be in the winning situation of earning more than other teachers for less hours.
You just have to ensure that you have marketed yourself widely enough to get a steady stream of enquiries coming in each week. Which leads me to the next point.
4. Get A Strong Web Presence
95% of my students came through the web. Students are far more likely to head straight for google to find a teacher than pick up a newspaper or look on notice boards these days.
It is a good idea to develop your own website, least of all because it shows that you are serious and established as a teaching service.
However, it takes time to achieve high-ranking results on google and other search engines. Therefore, it's very important at first to make sure that you advertise on every possible online classified outlet on the web that's relevant to your target market. (Don't forget to include your website link if you have one). These pages are likely to have high search engine rankings.
Gumtree has country specific sites and I have found it useful, but spend some time looking to see if there are any websites specifically to help students find native English teachers in your city/country. If there isn't one, then there's an idea for you! (We will talk about that another day).
Here is an example of such a site for Poland. I found it very useful at first; about 65% of my students came from that site alone in my first 6 months of going solo.
5. Wow Your Clients On First Contact
Don't put your lesson rates in your advertising. Instead, have a 'standard prospective student letter' ready to send to all those who enquire about lessons. Always write a short personal note thanking the student for getting in touch, then copy and paste the letter below the message in your email.
This letter is your chance to justify your high prices and really impress the prospective student with your qualifications, experience, lesson procedures, your curriculum and all the extra services mentioned in no.3. It should inform the student in no uncertain terms that you are the teacher they are looking for and more!
In my letter, I always made it clear that students are 'selected' for my exclusive courses on their level of enthusiasm, motivation, willingness to work hard, complete homework and attend every week. This worked really well in Poland, giving a true air of exclusivity to my teaching practice. However, you will have to test your local market conditions before adopting any radical approaches.
6. Be A True Pro
Now you have students coming through your door, it is time to deliver everything you promised and more. This is so they will continue coming for lessons and to encourage positive word-of-mouth marketing.
Dress in business attire; it shows that you mean business and will help to make you more convincing, and with the higher prices you are charging, you have to be that at very least.
Show that you are highly organised. Have a diary and notebook on the table; let the students see that you have great admin skills. It will help them to feel more comfortable with their assumption that you know what you are doing.
Never show emotion; tired, tetchy students can test the best of us. Remain calm and business like at all times.
I have heard a number of teachers claim that private students are just too unreliable to rely on as a main source of income; they cancel at a moment's notice or come for a few weeks then quit.
Wrong! If you approach the business of taking on private students casually then your students themselves will approach your lessons casually. Get a strict cancellation policy and go through it with them at the very beginning.
If your service is worth paying for, they will understand that you are a professional and accept your conditions. Don't waiver on your policy; be consistent with it and your income will be protected. This will also raise your professional credentials in the eyes of your clients and will actually help raise the profile of your whole teaching practice. It shows you mean business.
7. Go Corporate
The corporate market is different as you will be competing against a great deal of larger and well-established schools, so as I mentioned earlier, make sure you are offering something that they are not.
City-wide mail shots and cold telephone calling can be very effective but nothing beats turning up at reception. Even if the secretary turns you away, you can at least get a name to try and arrange a formal meeting with.
For this market, you must have a good website and good copy in the local language. I actually went for English only simply because I was targeting companies who had grown tired of the schools sending them false native speakers (a big problem in Warsaw) and wanted to deal with natives face to face. I only did this because I knew my market very well. The chances are that in most local markets, people will search on google in their local language.
Corporate contracts are well worth the hassle as they often involve large groups of long term students.
8. Subcontract
Once you have a few corporate contracts, back out of teaching one of them; tell the HR department that you feel 'one of your employees is even more qualified and experienced to take their groups'.
Now, go out and find a good willing teacher and give them a class, pay them a fair wage and take a good cut.
At this point, you should be getting direct enquiries from companies, some may have even come through your private students. When they call, make an appointment to go and meet them. Put your best suit on and off you go.
When you meet the HR manager(s) face to face, tell them that you are not currently available to teach them yourself but you do have two or three excellent native English teachers who are, that you have personally trained. (Make sure you do!).
You are now on the way to having your very own training company. You are selling your own time as well as other people's. You are making money from your teacher(s) while you concentrate on making money from your own teaching.
Maybe one day you won't have to teach at all! (If you don't want to).
9. Create And Sell Products
Selling your time is never going to make you rich as there is a ceiling on how much the market will allow you to charge for it and their are only 12 or so working hours in a day to play with.
You need to sell products and your student-base are a good target market to begin with.
Most of your students will need to buy a coursebook to study with you, make sure you are selling them; do a deal at a local book shop or try to register yourself as a retailer.
You can also sign up with Amazon's affiliate sales program and have their products available on your website. Choose all of the main EFL coursebooks that your students may want to buy and direct them to your website. When they click on a book and pay through amazon, you will get a small cut.
A very good idea is to record each lesson and store the mp3 files on your PC. After 10 weeks, offer to compile them on a CD for the student at a reasonable price. You will need the student's permission to record the lessons of course but many are willing. However, you might want to do this for free to justify the exclusivity of your service, as mentioned in no.3.
Developing your own materials and selling them to your students opens up a whole exciting venture. There are endless opportunities here. I compiled hundreds and hundreds of the typical mistakes made by students in conversation and turned them into a book. I had a fair number of takers.
Selling summer courses to your students can be quite lucrative. It isn't difficult
to build up a working relationship with one or two of the summer school providers in your home country and become an official or unofficial agent.
If you can deliver students then summer schools will more than likely be interested in you. Make sure you get all of the promo-material and have it on display in your private teaching room at home or when you or your subcontractors teach in-company.
These are just a few ideas for products you can sell as part of your teaching business but I am sure you will come across many exciting new ideas yourself.
10. Brand Yourself
All of the previous points need tying together to form a marketable whole that is worth something in both essence and in cash. This is why you need a brand.
Your brand can be a school name or even your own name but it must be brandable as a logo and all of your potential, current and future clients must see it on your website, emails, letters, business cards and even in your private teaching room. You should start using it from the word go; before you get your very first student.
After pushing your brand, people will start to associate it with your exclusive private teaching service, your corporate training and your products.
Now all of your efforts are actually worth something, and if you keep moving forward with drive and determination, you might be able to sell your business one day, open new branches or franchise it out.
Just be sure not to end up like the thousands of mediocre schools out there that always cater for the lowest denominator. Of course, there is a reason they do that, but the market for average EFL schools is saturated. There is way too much competition in being regular nowadays. Be different, ethical but business minded, and innovate at every opportunity.

You should start using it from the word go; before you get your very first student.
After pushing your brand, people will start to associate it with your exclusive private teaching service, your corporate training and your products.
Now all of your efforts are actually worth something, and if you keep moving forward with drive and determination, you might be able to sell your business one day, open new branches or franchise it out.
Just be sure not to end up like the thousands of mediocre schools out there that always cater for the lowest denominator. Of course, there is a reason they do that, but the market for average EFL schools is saturated. There is way too much competition in being regular nowadays. The Family/Career Question�
Today time is probably the biggest commodity… in many cases more precious than money. If you think about it… there is always a way to make more money if you are willing to do whatever it takes. Once time is gone…you can't get it back. There isn't a way to make more of it or stretch it out to be longer. The only thing anyone can do is manage it and maximize it. Based on that, why would anyone want to waste it? Sounds like a strange question right? At this point you're probably saying to yourself … "no one wants to waste time" and I would agree with you. How come then… do so many people do it? Every single day!!! Time is wasted in so many ways… but the biggest seems to be based on a job when compared to family life. Did you know that the nasty morning commute eats up 1 to 2 hours a day usually... and much more for many. That can be as much as 3 weeks a year when added up! Take a 40 year career and that's 120 weeks or more than 2 years of wasted time!!! 2 YEARS!!! What would you do to keep that time? Anything? Most people would probably say yes to that. There is a way to keep more of it than you think today. Droves of American's are leaving the corporate sector to either work from home, or have their own home businesses. It's allowing them to gain some of those lost 2 years back.
If you choose to simply work at home, meaning have a job but do it at home; there are good and not so good things to consider…
Here's the good… A regular paycheck… if that's what's important to you. Ability to plan your life around your work to an extent. No up front investment… you'll still be an employee. .
Here's the not so good… Answering to a boss for your schedule. Needing a boss' approval to advance. Someone else still decides how much your time and efforts are worth. No build up of residual income.
Certainly if you choose to step out of the employee sector and into the home business owner sector there are a all kinds of advantages available to you. Again however; along with the good also comes the not so good.
Here is what a home based business can offer…
The good… You're the boss. Run your business your way and not someone else's. You create your own schedule and decide how much and when you work. You answer to your self, not a boss. You decide how much your time and efforts are worth vs. a boss. Potential build up of residual income if you choose the right business.
The not so good (or challenges)… There is an investment and working capital needed for any legitimate venture. There is no immediate gratification. You need to build your business and momentum before reaping the rewards.
With all that being said, the good far outweighs the bad. There are certainly ways to plan so that starting your business doesn't break your bank. Keep your job and start it part time or simply save up the capital needed and then make the switch.
Let's talk about the good for a second… imagine having the time to travel when you want? How about never missing your child's sports competition again? Or being available to attend all school events and never missing a birthday party celebration? What about your personal time… remember that? What would it be like to have a little of your own time more than once a year!?
Whatever your choose; feel good about your decision to take the necessary steps in discovering the fantastic potential and flexibility to work at home. Having a job or a business is up to you but; imagine the impact that your new found time freedom will really have on your family life? Let's face it; time is limited and if the opportunity is there to maximize yours, why wouldn't you take it?

Which Harley Pipes Make More Power
The Most Powerful Harley Pipes
There is no doubt that opinions vary wildly on just about any subject being discussed so it's no surprise that when the question of which set of harley pipes will produce the best power, it is hard to find a consensus as to which is better. There's a good reason for that and that is simply that there is rarely one right answer to a question like this. So much of it depends on the combination and tune involved.
In many cases though, when something proves to be true far more often than not, it is safe to make some assumptions about things and expect that if it were true for 90% of other users, that you could likely expect it would be true for you too. That is the case when it comes to which set of Harley pipes produce the best power.
In most mildly modified Harley Davidsons you can count on a good 2 into 1 pipes to produce a better power curve than a set of traditional 2 into 2 pipes. A 2 into 2 may be able to match the peak power of a 2 into 1 but it will quickly show it's weakness in the low and midrange of the power curve.
I am not going to go into the physics of it but to summarize a 2 into 1 harley pipe simply has much better scavenging qualities and will produce better midrange and torque on almost stock or mildly modified Harley Davidson. I wouldn't say that would be true on every occasion but it has been proven to me time and time again from running various pipe and tuning combinations on the dyno.
Now I know that some of the more skeptical will say that a dyno doesn't tell the tale on the street but I have ridden just about every combination in existence and I can safely say that a 2 into 1 makes for a killer street pipe. I run a D&D Fat Cat on my own heavily modified 2007 Nightrain, so I put my money where my mouth is.
Which 2 into 1
The answer as to which 2 into 1 pipes would be best for your bike is a difficult one. Most 2 into 1 exhaust systems will perform very similarly on a stock or mildly modified Harley Davidson so in most cases, the answer is simply select whichever one you think looks the best.
I know that may sound superficial but the simply fact is that most of them perform so similarly that the only difference is cosmetic, regardless of what claims they might make.I have run a number of them in the past and I can confidently recommend the D&D Fat Cat or the Vance and Hines Pro Pipe as very solid selections that you won't go wrong with.
A 2 into 1 pipe will typically have a quieter exhaust note that will really growl when you crack the throttle. It's a very deep and bassy exhaust note that really sounds awesome in my opinion. Much better than any 2 into 2 pipe that I have experienced.
But I like Drag Pipes
You say you love the look and sound of a pair of drag pipes? Me too. Drag pipes and Harley Davidsons have gone together for many years and they do everything pretty well. Drag pipes look great and they sound awesome, assuming you like loud pipes of course.
What they don't do is make the best power. The question you would have to ask yourself though, is that really the most important thing to you? I mean a 2 into 1 will definitely make a noticeable difference in the power output and rideability of your Harley but if you hate the look of them, will you be happy?
Let's face it, the best 2 into 1 Harley pipe on the planet still won't turn a Harley Davidson into a Hayabusa. You need to balance your decision, weigh the factors that are important to you and then decide which set of pipes make the most sense for you.
Conclusion
So in summary, while I am not one to say that a certain kind of pipe will always perform better on every combination, I can confidently say that on 90% plus of stock to mildly modified Harleys, that a 2 into 1 pipe will almost always outperform a 2 into 2 pipe.
I can also say that I made an error above because there are some questions that have a single right answer. The answer to the question of "Which set of Harley Pipes are best for you" is an easy one, the answer is which set of Harley pipes that you prefer, are the ones that are the best.
Do your research, look at pictures, listen to the pipes and decide which set of pipes best suits your needs. The perfect set of pipes is out there.

There is no doubt that opinions vary wildly on just about any subject being discussed so it's no surprise that when the question of which set of harley pipes will produce the best power, it is hard to find a consensus as to which is better. There's a good reason for that and that is simply that there is rarely one right answer to a question like this. So much of it depends on the combination and tune involved.
In many cases though, when something proves to be true far more often than not, it is safe to make some assumptions about things and expect that if it were true for 90% of other users, that you could likely expect it would be true for you too. That is the case when it comes to which set of Harley pipes produce the best power.
In most mildly modified Harley Davidsons you can count on a good 2 into 1 pipes to produce a better power curve than a set of traditional 2 into 2 pipes. A 2 into 2 may be able to match the peak power of a 2 into 1 but it will quickly show it's weakness in the low and midrange of the power curve.
I am not going to go into the physics of it but to summarize a 2 into 1 harley pipe simply has much better scavenging qualities and will produce better midrange and torque on almost stock or mildly modified Harley Davidson. I wouldn't say that would be true on every occasion but it has been proven to me time and time again from running various pipe and tuning combinations on the dyno.
Now I know that some of the more skeptical will say that a dyno doesn't tell the tale on the street but I have ridden just about every combination in existence and I can safely say that a 2 into 1 makes for a killer street pipe. I run a D&D Fat Cat on my own heavily modified 2007 Nightrain, so I put my money where my mouth is.
Which 2 into 1
The answer as to which 2 into 1 pipes would be best for your bike is a difficult one. Most 2 into 1 exhaust systems will perform very similarly on a stock or mildly modified Harley Davidson so in most cases, the answer is simply select whichever one you think looks the best.
I know that may sound superficial but the simply fact is that most of them perform so similarly that the only difference is cosmetic, regardless of what claims they might make.I have run a number of them in the past and I can confidently recommend the D&D Fat Cat or the Vance and Hines Pro Pipe as very solid selections that you won't go wrong with.
A 2 into 1 pipe will typically have a quieter exhaust note that will really growl when you crack the throttle. It's a very deep and bassy exhaust note that really sounds awesome in my opinion. Much better than any 2 into 2 pipe that I have experienced.
But I like Drag Pipes
You say you love the look and sound of a pair of drag pipes? Me too. Drag pipes and Harley Davidsons have gone together for many years and they do everything pretty well. Drag pipes look great and they sound awesome, assuming you like loud pipes of course.
What they don't do is make the best power. The question you would have to ask yourself though, is that really the most important thing to you? I mean a 2 into 1 will definitely make a noticeable difference in the power output and rideability of your Harley but if you hate the look of them, will you be happy?
Let's face it, the best 2 into 1 Harley pipe on the planet still won't turn a Harley Davidson into a Hayabusa. You need to balance your decision, weigh the factors that are important to you and then decide which set of pipes make the most sense for you.
Conclusion
So in summary, while I am not one to say that a certain kind of pipe will always perform better on every combination, I can confidently say that on 90% plus of stock to mildly modified Harleys, that a 2 into 1 pipe will almost always outperform a 2 into 2 pipe.
I can also say that I made an error above because there are some questions that have a single right answer. The answer to the question of "Which set of Harley Pipes are best for you" is an easy one, the answer is which set of Harley pipes that you prefer, are the ones that are the best.
Do your research, look at pictures, listen to the pipes and decide which set of pipes best suits your needs. The perfect set of pipes is out there.

How to Make Money Writing Online and Content Marketing
Article writers using content marketing often overlook content readability when composing their articles. Writing articles online for money must not only consider motivating readers to buy a product. To make money writing online, authors must also provide readable quality content.
With the advent of Google's stated goal to improve a user's search experience, many websites and articles lost their coveted positions in Search Engine Ranking Positions (SERPs). It is now, more than ever, that quality website content writing is king. Writing online for money as a means of 'gaming' the search engines through keyword stuffing, article blasts to thousands of article directories, and weak, poorly structured website content writing are gone.
Readability
Readability measures the grade level needed to understand any document. There are several schemes that are used to determine readability. The Flesch-Kincaid Grade Level is one of better known and most used measurements. Your content writing can be much improved if you incorporate this measure into your article writing.
Although it has come under criticism for its simplicity, Flesch-Kincaid Grade Level scale is still widely used and can give you an idea of your article's readability.
You can determine your article's readability with the Flesch-Kincaid Grade Level scale which assigns a grade level to the written material. MS Word provides a readability statistics feature found under the spell check tab that determines your article's grade level reading score.
There are free utilities on the web that allow you to copy and paste your document and the utility will return the grade level score. There are others. Online-Utitility.org is one. You can find them with a 'free readability tools' search on the internet.
You can also use the Google 'more search tools' feature found at the bottom of the left navigation bar when doing a Google search and choosing 'reading level'. The organic results will show 'basic', 'intermediate', or 'advanced' reading levels for each of the page results.
Although, the results may not be 100% accurate, they do give you an idea of the grade level that your article or page is written at. It may seem that I am putting much emphasis on readability and quality content. It is important to note when writing for the web that the content be easily understandable by your targeted reader. You make make money writing articles online by targeting your reader.
Ideal Reading Level
If you dumb down your website content writing, the reader may feel insulted and dismiss your words. If your words are too pedantic, readers may accuse you of flaunting your knowledge. You may have quality content, but not readable by your targeted audience.
What is the ideal reading grade level? The answer eludes me. Many claim that the national average reading level is eighth grade and that article writers should write at that level or lower when writing for the web. I have yet to find any evidence to substantiate that claim or that you will make money writing to that grade level.
Studies have been conducted by various governmental agencies under the U.S. Department of Education and by independent private agencies on various aspects of literacy throughout the United States, but I have yet to find any authoritative data that specifically identifies the national reading average to be at the eighth grade level.
Adult Literacy in America
The study most often cited as the source of the eighth grade reading level claim is a 1993 study, Adult Literacy in America: A First Look at the Results of the National Adult Literacy Survey, by Irwin S. Kirsch, sponsored by the National Center for Education Statistics. You can review the results yourself at the National Center for Education Statistics.
However, the study does not specifically state that the national reading level average is at the eighth grade level. In fact, the study's committee "… agreed that expressing the literacy proficiencies of adults in school-based terms or grade-level scores is inappropriate."
The study did survey levels of literacy skills ranging from Level 1 to Level 5, with Level 5 being the most difficult or the highest skill level. The survey did show that about half the population performed at levels 3-5 and half performed within the lower levels 1 and 2.
SERPs and Readability
Nevertheless, if we accept the various reading level scales like, Flesch-Kincaid, article writers can improve their content marketing to more closely match the acceptance of targeted readers. In addition, Google and other search engines may or may not look favorably on the webpage or article and rank it higher than one that Google deems to be written at an inappropriate level as evidenced by the Official Google Blog
For instance, an article written at the twelfth grade level about building a tool shed may not be looked upon as worthy of Google's definition of maximizing the user search experience. An article on the same subject written at the sixth or seventh grade level might well fair much better in the SERPs.
On the other hand, writing an article on the Literacy Statistics of Migrant Workers at the fourth or fifth grade level would not fare well with academic readers and probably not with the search engines.
The point is that article writers should consider readability when writing articles. The effort does not need to be an all consuming effort. Readability can easily be checked with one of the tools I mentioned earlier.
Be aware of the end user. The more you comply with Google's goal of "providing the best user experience possible," the more favorably the search engine will rank your writing for money efforts.
